Chayenne

I’ve been tutoring for over 10 years and have thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it! Math is a true passion of mine. I’ve received over a dozen scholarships and grants for both mathematics and mathematics education, and I was nominated to present my thesis research discovery of the Harmonic Tetrahedron at a conference in 2024. I spent five years teaching high school math and have specialized in online learning since 2020. In addition to assisting in several Calculus courses, I taught through CU Boulder’s summer programs, including Upward Bound and the Pre-Collegiate Developmental Program.

When I’m not assisting folks with Mathematics, you can often find me teaching dance for adults at Alchemy of Movement, Best of Boulder's top-rated dance studio since 2018. My partner and I love the outdoors and just moved into the mountains to be closer to all the skiing, climbing, hiking, and the rest of the classic Colorado activities. At home, we share our space with two furry friends who frequently pop in during tutoring sessions: our curious black cat, Kaladin, and our sleepy 80-lb German Shepherd–Husky mix, Momo.

Peter
Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, and Chemistry Specialist

Ph.d. Mathematics

Peter obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Colorado Boulder where he studied discrete differential geometry, a field at the intersection of computer science, differential geometry, and physics. During his time in graduate school, Peter worked as a Calculus and Computer Sceince instructor and was the Co-Coordinator for the Calculus III program at CU Boulder. In the later role, Peter helped redisign a significant part of how CU taught and evaluated students in Calc III. Currently, he works at Cornell University as a research scientist and software developer.

Catherine
Mathematics Specialist

M.A. Mathematics

Catherine has been tutoring since she began her B.S. in Mathematics at Gannon University (2016-2020), where she won the Academic Excellence Award in Mathematics. While pursuing her master's degree in mathematics at the University of California, San Diego, Catherine earned certificates in Recognition of Expertise in Equitable and Evidence-based Teaching and as part of the Student-Centered College Teaching & Course Design Program, recognizing her strong commitment to teaching. After finishing school, she developed curriculum for a startup homework platform FizzBuzz and began a private tutoring practice. This year she is excited to begin teaching 7th and 8th grade math.

Catherine has been tutoring for nearly fifteen years, working with students from middle school through university level, both online and in person. Outside of math, she loves baking elaborate desserts, especially pies and tarts. She enjoys hiking and rock climbing, though she's still warming up to camping. Over the past year, Catherine has had the chance to perform with three orchestras on violin. Recently, she moved from Pennsylvania to Missouri, where she and her husband teach mathematics.

Continuing on to college, she received the Presidential academic scholarship from UNR and the Millennium Scholarship. She passed the Electrical and Computer Fundamentals of Engineering Exam on her first attempt, started working at an electric utility company following graduation, and now works at an MEP firm. In her 6+ years of tutoring, she has regularly received highly positive reviews from students and parents.

Paul
Mathematics, Computer Science, and Physics Specialist

B.S. Computer science

For the past eight years, Paul has taught at dozens of schools across Vietnam, finding deep reward in transforming complex technical ideas into clear, approachable concepts. Grounded in academic research, his university thesis examined how second-language acquisition methods can be applied to teaching computer programming. Today, he uses this unique framework to help students build strong fundamentals through repeatable, easy-to-understand problem-solving patterns.

Paul earned his B.S. in Computer Science, graduating Magna Cum Laude with minors in Mathematics and Environmental Science. His academic excellence was recognized early when he was named a National Merit Scholar—an honor awarded to the top 0.5% of students nationwide. Paul enjoys passing on the exact test-taking strategies and analytical techniques that led to his own success to help his students excel. Outside of the virtual classroom, Paul enjoys driving his motorbike, playing guitar, and writing.
